IMS Introduction

                     The department of Town and country planning is launching the first ever IMS (Internet Mapping Server). With this launch the department will be the pioneer in the country to use such cutting edge technology to publish their Maps for public use. IMS is a revolutionary technology that allows the users to interact with maps through a Web browser. They differentiate from an image in a sense that you can zoom in or zoom out without loosing clarity, you can also search specific points and areas on the map by invoking a simple search, other features like layering, panning, provision for measurement of distances and areas are part of the system. The maps of the department will be available on IMS. This new IT based system is brought to you by the department in Technical collaboration with Geotrans Technologies Pvt. Ltd.
